"Touch"

A group sculpture exhibition entitled “Touch” was held at the French Cultural Center in Khartoum from July 9 to August 10, 2017, for the professors of the Faculty of Fine Arts and included Abdul Rahman Abdullah Shanqal, Layla Adam, Haider Abdul Qadir, Awad Omar, Walid Hassan Al-Zubair and myself, Omima H. A. Mohamed. The exhibition was in solidarity with the Association of the Blind, as the exhibition allowed people to feel and touch the sculptures and enabled the blind to appreciate the art of sculpture.

معرض نحت جماعي بعنوان لمس شاركت في تنظيمه بالمركز الثقافي الفرنسي الخرطوم في الفترة من9 يوليو الي 10اغسطس 2017 لاساتذة كلية الفنون وضم كل من عبد الرحمن عبد الله شنقل ، ليلي ادم ، حيدر عبد القادر ، عوض عمر ، وليد حسن الزبير و شخصي اميمة محمد .. المعرض كان بالتضامن مع جمعية المكفوفين حيث يمكن المعرض من تحسس ولمس المنحوتات و يتيح للمكفوفين تذوق فن النحت .

Soulmates

The “Sœurs” (Soul Sisters) exhibition was the inaugural showcase for the Sudanese Female Artists’ Collective. Held at the Khartoum Cultural Centre in July 2018 and attended by the French Ambassador, the exhibition embodied the spirit of female solidarity. It served as both an artistic and social event, highlighting how women support, inspire, and empower one another through art. The title “Sœurs”—and its Arabic equivalent, “Soul Sisters”—underscores a profound human bond that transcends family ties, encompassing shared experiences, mutual understanding, and collective resilience. Through painting and other visual media, the participating artists explore themes such as identity, memory, femininity, solidarity, and the lived experiences of women across diverse cultures.

معرض “Sœurs” (توأم الروح): هو المعرض الأول لمجموعة بيت التسكيليات السودانيات اقيم بالمركز الثقافي الخرطوم في يوليو 2018 بحضور سفيرة فرنسا يمثل المعرض روح التضامن النسائي شكل المعرض تظاهرة فنية واجتماعية في آن واحد، مسلطاً الضوء على كيفية دعم النساء لبعضهن البعض وإلهام وتمكين بعضهن من خلال الفن. ويؤكد عنوان المعرض “Sœurs” – وما يقابله يقابله في العربية “توأم الروح” – على الرابطة الإنسانية العميقة التي تتجاوز الروابط العائلية لتشمل التجارب المشتركة والتفاهم المتبادل والصمود الجماعي. ومن خلال الرسم والوسائط البصرية الأخرى، تتناول الفنانات المشاركات موضوعات مثل الهوية والذاكرة والأنوثة والتضامن والتجارب الحياتية للنساء عبر ثقافات متنوعة.

Our homeland, Drawn in your name

“Our Homeland, Drawn in Your Name” is a collective online exhibition organized by the Sudanese Female Artists’ House. Held on June 30, 2020, it commemorates the glorious December Revolution, protests the massacre that dispersed the sit-in at the General Command, demands justice for the revolution’s martyrs, and calls for a return to the correct path. The exhibition reflects the role of women in the struggle and peaceful resistance to achieve peace, freedom, and social justice, highlighting how the *Kandakas*—Sudanese women—stood at the forefront of the glorious December Revolution, even sacrificing their lives.

Embracing my freedom

A solo exhibition titled “Embracing My Freedom” was held at the Khatim Adlan Center in Khartoum to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8, 2021.

Vision

Solo sculpture exhibition by Omaima Hasab al-Rasoul Ahmed at the French Cultural Center, Khartoum, 2003.

I held a solo sculpture exhibition titled “Vision” at the French Cultural Center in Khartoum. As my second solo show, it marked a significant milestone in my artistic career; the French Cultural Center was a central hub for my activities—including art workshops and exhibitions—during that period. The exhibition showcased my sculptural work from that time, featuring pieces created from diverse materials such as marble, sandstone, wood, and metal. It explored the interplay between heritage and modernity, presenting a mix of abstract, semi-abstract, and realistic works that embodied Afro-Arab identity and addressed themes of womanhood and motherhood.

معرض منحوتات فردي ل اميمة حسب الرسول احمد في المركز الثقافي الفرنسي، الخرطوم، .. المعرض بعنوان رؤية و هو معرضي الفردي الثاني و قد شكل علامة بارزة في مسيرتي الفنية و مثل المركز الثقافي الفرنسي في تلك الفترة مركزا اساسيا لنشاطاتي من ورش فنية ومعارض. . قدم المعرض تجربتي النحتية في تلك الفترة وقد استخدمت في اعمالي خامات مختلفة االرخام والحجر الرملي و الخشب والمعادن .. عبر المعرض عن ثنائية التراث والحداثة حيث حوي اعمال تجريدية وشبه تجريدية واعمال واقعية تجسد الههوية الافريقية العربية و تتناول قضايا المراة والامومة

First solo sculpture exhibition

This was my first solo sculpture exhibition, held at the Centre for Sudanese Studies in Khartoum on April 7, 2002, to commemorate the April Revolution. The exhibition aimed to honor and highlight the struggle against oppression and violence, and to champion the Sudanese cause—a struggle that would only conclude with the realization of freedom, peace, and social justice.

I employed semi-abstract styles and fluid, flexible, curving lines alongside semi-sharp angles, drawing inspiration from the sculptural traditions of ancient Sudanese civilizations. I also incorporated symbols and narratives from Sudanese culture—such as the lotus flower and various African motifs—as well as stories from Islamic heritage.

كان هذا أول معرض فردي للنحت أقمته في مركز الدراسات السودانية بالخرطوم، احتفالاً بذكرى ثورة أبريل، وذلك في 7 أبريل 2002. المعرض لتمجيد و ابراز النضال ضد القمع والعنف و ولاعلاء قضية السودانيين التي لن تنتهي الا باعلان الحرية والسلام واقامة العدالة الاجتماعية .

استخدمة أساليب شبه تجريدية، وخطوطاً منحنية انسيابية، مرنة مع زوايا شبه حادة مستوحية اسلوب النحت التلقيد في الحضارات السودانية القديمة كما استوحيت رموزاً وقصص من الثقافة السودانية مثل زهرة اللوتس وبعض الزخارف الافريقية وقصص من التراث الاسلامي.

Ram0ma gallery- Kenya

A group exhibition by the Sudanese Women Artists Collective was held at Ramoma Gallery in Nairobi, Kenya, from August 4 to 21. The exhibition featured a diverse range of works—including sculpture, painting, and ceramics—by Sudanese women artists. The opening was attended by artists Sanaa Bashir, Fatima Hassan, Mai Abdel-Aziz, and myself, Omima Hasab Al-Rasoul (Omima Mohamed).
